As a result, we are able to rely on organic growing processes for our CBD products. You can rest easy knowing On Duty products are carefully monitored from seed to bottle to ensure you are getting the highest quality hemp products on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the suggested usage for CBD oil and/or other products?

We recommend a “start low and go slow” approach for both humans and pets. Below are our recommended usage instructions for our most popular products.

Oils – Start with 1/2 dropper of oil under the tongue once in the morning and once in the evening for adults. For best results, hold the oil under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing. Increase to 1 full dropper, as needed.

Lotions – Apply a nickel-sized amount to the area of interest. Use liberally as needed.

Rollers – Apply a small amount (1-2 swipes) directly to area of interest, as needed.

Pets – Administer 1/4 dropper of oil (0.25 mL or about 5 drops) per 10 lbs of pet weight once per day.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound extracted from the cannabis plant.  It’s a naturally occurring molecule that has many health benefits, but it doesn’t have any of the psychoactive effects of THC, which people commonly think of in relation to the cannabis plant.

Is CBD legal?

Yes, the United States Farm Bill of 2018 classified plants containing less than 0.3% THC as industrial hemp, making CBD legal in all 50 states. At on Duty, our CBD products are produced under a license from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Research Program and can be shipped directly to your door.

What is the difference between Pure & ZERO THC CBD products?

Our Pure (full spectrum) CBD oil contains a full range of beneficial plant extracts — including a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC — which work together to produce lasting effects when interacting with the endocannabinoid system. Though On Duty CBD products are produced under strict quality protocols and third party testing, we are proud to offer a ZERO THC blend to those who may have extra sensitivities to THC or are simply looking for a taste-neutral experience.

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds found in the Cannabis sativa (hemp) plant. There are around 104 chemical compounds or cannabinoids in the plant.

Will Pure/full spectrum On Duty CBD products cause me to fail a drug test?

In general no, however, as with all hemp products, the chance exists that a positive test for THC could be triggered.  Full-spectrum CBD products should only have a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC, however, unregulated products on the market may contain higher amounts of THC than advertised, making it very important to choose a product, like On Duty, with strict quality protocols and third-party testing.

Pure (full spectrum) CBD products have a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC. In theory, if someone consumes large amounts, such as over 1,000 mg of full spectrum CBD for several days in a row they could potentially accumulate enough THC to cause a sensitive test to read positive.  To put that amount into perspective, that would be 2 full 500mg bottles per day.

Just like O’Doul’s (near-beer) won’t get you intoxicated, it still has a very small amount of alcohol in it (0.4% compared to 4% for normal beer). If a positive test for THC is a concern, we recommend trying On Duty ZERO THC CBD oil which contains 0.0% THC.

How do I store my On Duty products? What is their shelf life?

The shelf life of all On Duty products is about two years. That said, On Duty products do not “spoil” so long as you keep the product lid closed tightly to avoid exposing it to oxygen which will, eventually, oxidize the carrier MCT oil in the tinctures. You don’t have to do anything magical to preserve the cannabidiol (CBD) in On Duty products. Simply store your On Duty products at room temperature, away from high heat and piercing direct sunlight. And, as we said early, keep the lid closed when not using your product.

IS CBD oil safe for pets?

Yes, we even have a specially formulated K9 CBD oil! Anecdotal evidence from dog owners suggests CBD can be used to help manage stress and pain in pets. As with any product, it is always advisable to check with your veterinarian first.
